Succeeding in the school of life is challenging and exhilarating, if you have a positive mind seta.k.a. attitude.

The school of life is continually in session and is ready to teach you valuable opportunities and experiences. You can maximize your success as a learner and increase your comprehension abilities if you utilize a few key strategies.

Be Open To New Opportunities and Experiences: Develop an attitude of enthusiasm and excitement as new information, different points of view or methods of problem solving and new ideas come into your path. New ideas are the seeds of personal growth and your willingness is the fertilizer. Stimulate your growth of new ideas by meeting new people. Join interest groupsbook club, hobbies, etc.where you will learn new ideas.

Show Up: Showing up for your life fully demonstrates you are there for yourself. Jump in, be an active participant and maximize your experience and opportunities. Seek out new opportunitiesA05 and grow more fully in your life. Take classes, read books, listen to CDs, etc. related or unrelated to your work. Volunteer for an organization that supports your passions in life.

Cultivate A MentorBe A Mentor: You have heard the axiomWhen the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Everyone has something valuable to share with others. Many people are willing to be a mentor. You need to cultivate their willingness to choose you. Likewise, you can offer to be someones mentor.

Ask Questions: Develop a curiosity about others. The wisest person asks questions to demonstrate that they are knowledgeable enough to know they do not know everything. How did you learn to____? What prompted you to go into_____? What do you like best about your career? Listen without judging. Make notes on what you discoveryou do not know when that information could come in handy.

Take Time For Yourself To Recharge Your Energy: Remember to have fun. Make sure you take time from work/family responsibilities to recharge yourself mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Remember recess was the best part of school. It still is in Lifes continual school.
